About

I am a 40-something mother of two daughters living in the Midwest.  My younger daughter developed severe depression at the tender age of 12, which launched her father and I into the puzzling world of mental health treatment.  My daughter is now 16 and has not needed to be hospitalized for over a year now.  I’ve developed this blog to give parents of children with mental illness a place to learn from our experiences.

Our experiences in Amy’s road to recovery were overwhelming.  Now that we are, hopefully, on the other side, I want to make the pain we experienced into something positive.

What a wonderful website! I suffer from Bipolar II and remember what it was like to be a teen dealing with depression. Keep up the amazing work.

Hi my name is Natalie Richards, and I work for SR Education Group, an educational resource provider.

Time and time again, I’ve encountered varying degrees of harassment and bullying in the workplace, online, and social environments. Most recently, I learned about my fourteen-year-old nephew, who has been consistently bullied by a number of students who attend his junior high; an unnerving circumstance that I immediately associate with Megan Meier, the tragic suicide victim of cyber bullying.

As a resource provider, who generally tries to advise students about the management of their academic experience and future careers, I decided to create a resource to help combat the rising prevalence of work, school, and cyber-related bullying.

This article offers an in-depth assortment of resources on bullying statistics; child bullying; cyber bullying; workplace bullying; resources on the laws and rights of victims; and resources on prevention, counseling, and treatment.

After reviewing your Out of the Rabbit Hole website, I thought that this might be a useful resource for you, and the people who visit your Bullying and teen depression blog. It might help to educate people about the legal ramifications of bullying, and the steps that can be made to deescalate this terrible form of mistreatment.

    Thank you for your time.

    Best,
    Natalie
